Help — CRÜ

Orientation, expectations, and safety — in a calm voice.

What is CRÜ?

CRÜ is a calm social space for the Queer community — built for thoughtful conversation, genuine connection, and slower engagement.

It’s designed to reward reading, reflection, and respect, rather than outrage, virality, or constant performance.

CRÜ is not about being loud.
It’s about being real.

How CRÜ works

CRÜ is intentionally different from most social platforms.
Understanding the shape of the space makes everything else feel easier.

Feeds & forums
  • Content is organised into forums and sub-forums, not trends or algorithms
  • Posts aren’t boosted by likes, outrage, or engagement tricks
  • Visibility grows through consistent, respectful participation
Posting & commenting
  • Writing is encouraged to be thoughtful, not reactive
  • Comments are for conversation, not scoring points
  • Quality matters more than volume
Chats & invitations
  • Chats are invite-only and intentionally limited
  • This keeps conversations meaningful and manageable
  • Not every interaction needs to become a chat
Following & visibility
  • Following helps you keep track of people and spaces you care about
  • It does not create popularity rankings or public metrics
  • CRÜ avoids numbers that turn people into scores
Some features unlock gradually. This is intentional — it protects the culture and the people already here.

Community expectations

CRÜ is a shared space. These aren’t “rules” — they’re expectations that help the space stay calm and usable.

  • Be respectful, even when you disagree
  • No harassment, hate speech, or dogpiling
  • No spam, baiting, or manipulation
  • Respect privacy — yours and others’

For enforceable rules (including privacy, harassment, and technical abuse), see Acceptable Use & Safety Rules.

CRÜ is moderated to protect the community — not to referee debates or punish people for being imperfect.

Moderation & safety

Safety matters, especially in queer spaces.

Reporting
  • You can report posts, comments, or users
  • Reports are reviewed carefully
  • Most reports don’t lead to action — serious issues do
Moderation
  • Moderation decisions may involve human review
  • Context matters
  • Actions aim to be proportionate, not performative
Reviews (case-by-case)
  • In some cases, you can request a review
  • Reviews are handled case-by-case
  • The goal is fairness, not escalation

We may not be able to share full details of moderation decisions, especially where privacy, safety, or legal obligations are involved.

Accounts & privacy

CRÜ is designed to share as little as necessary.

  • Only the information you choose is public
  • Photos may be reviewed before being made visible
  • Blocking is private and respected
  • We don’t sell your data
  • We don’t run ads

For details, see Privacy.

  • Not a place for pile-ons or public shaming
  • Not optimised for virality or constant scrolling
  • Not designed to keep you hooked at all costs
