Welcome to CRÜ.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CRÜ platform, including our website, any applications, and related services (together, the “Service”).
By accessing or using CRÜ, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Definitions
In these Terms:
- “CRÜ”, “we”, “us” means the operator of the Service.
- “you”, “your”, “user” means the person using the Service.
- “Content” includes posts, comments, messages, photos, text, links, and anything else submitted through the Service.
- “Rules” means our Acceptable Use & Safety Rules (as updated from time to time).
2. Documents that apply
These Terms work together with:
- Privacy Policy (/privacy) — forms part of these Terms.
- Acceptable Use & Safety Rules (/rules) — forms part of these Terms.
- Community Principles (/principles) — non-legal and non-binding. They describe the culture CRÜ is built for.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Rules, these Terms prevail to the extent of the conflict.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use CRÜ.
By using the Service, you confirm that:
- you meet the age requirement;
- you are legally able to enter into these Terms; and
- any information you provide is accurate and current.
CRÜ is intended for use within Australia. While the Service may be accessible elsewhere, it is governed by Australian law.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the security of your account;
- all activity that occurs under your account; and
- ensuring your use of CRÜ complies with these Terms and the Rules.
You must not:
- create more than one account to evade limits or enforcement;
- impersonate another person; or
- allow others to access your account in a way that compromises safety.
CRÜ may suspend or restrict accounts that appear to be compromised or used in violation of these Terms or the Rules.
5. Nature of the Service
CRÜ facilitates conversation and connection between users. CRÜ is designed for conversation, not performance.
CRÜ:
- does not guarantee replies, visibility, engagement, matches, or outcomes;
- does not endorse user-generated content; and
- is not responsible for user behaviour, interactions, or decisions.
No one is owed attention, replies, or visibility. Participation on CRÜ is voluntary and at your discretion.
6. Community standards (enforceable)
You agree not to use the Service in a way that undermines safety, privacy, or trust.
In particular, you must not:
- harass, threaten, or abuse others;
- impersonate individuals or misrepresent identity;
- manipulate, coerce, or pressure other users;
- doxx, stalk, or attempt to identify users;
- spam, scam, or engage in coordinated inauthentic behaviour; or
- use CRÜ for unlawful or harmful purposes.
The Rules include additional detail on acceptable use and safety, and apply alongside this section.
7. Content
You retain ownership of Content you submit to CRÜ.
By submitting Content, you grant CRÜ a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that Content as necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, and to enforce these Terms and the Rules.
You are solely responsible for:
- the Content you post; and
- any consequences arising from it.
CRÜ does not guarantee the preservation, visibility, or continued availability of any Content.
8. Intellectual Property & Platform Rights
Except for user-generated Content, all elements of the Service — including but not limited to:
- software, source code, and compiled code;
- user interface design, layout, structure, and interaction patterns;
- branding, trademarks, logos, and visual assets; and
- text, graphics, and system architecture —
are owned by or licensed to CRÜ and are protected under Australian and international intellectual property laws.
You must not, without prior written permission:
- copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the Service;
- create derivative works based on CRÜ’s design, layout, or functionality;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code; or
- replicate or imitate the Service for competitive or commercial purposes.
Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of or rights to CRÜ’s intellectual property.
9. Technical misuse
You must not attempt to:
- access, probe, or test the Service’s security or vulnerabilities without written authorisation;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or index data without permission;
- use bots, automation, or scripts to interact with the Service;
- bypass safeguards, rate limits, access controls, or visibility restrictions;
- introduce malware, exploits, or harmful code; or
- engage in activity intended to damage, overload, or impair the Service.
Any attempt to interfere with the operation, integrity, or security of CRÜ may result in immediate suspension or termination and may be referred to law enforcement where appropriate.
10. Moderation & enforcement
CRÜ may moderate the Service to protect users and the community.
This may include:
- removing or limiting Content;
- reducing visibility or reach;
- restricting features; or
- suspending or terminating accounts.
Moderation actions may be taken with or without notice, and at CRÜ’s discretion.
We aim to act proportionately and consistently. However, we are not obligated to provide warnings, detailed explanations, or a review process in every case, including where doing so could compromise safety, privacy, legal obligations, or the integrity of enforcement.
11. Chats & user interactions
Chats and interactions on CRÜ are:
- optional;
- consensual; and
- user-initiated.
CRÜ does not guarantee:
- responses;
- continued access to chat features; or
- the behaviour or intentions of other users.
You are responsible for your interactions and for exercising judgment when engaging with others, including any offline meetings.
12. Paid features
CRÜ is currently free to use. Paid features or subscriptions may be introduced in the future.
Any paid features will be governed by additional terms presented at the time of purchase.
13. Privacy
Your use of CRÜ is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.
14. Third-party services and links
The Service may include links to or integrations with third-party websites or services. We do not control third parties and are not responsible for their content, policies, or actions. Your use of third-party services is at your discretion and subject to their terms.
15. Disclaimers
CRÜ is provided “as is” and “as available”.
CRÜ makes no warranties regarding:
- availability or uptime;
- accuracy or reliability of Content; or
- user conduct or interactions.
CRÜ does not provide legal, medical, or professional advice.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- CRÜ is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses;
- CRÜ is not liable for user-generated Content or interactions; and
- CRÜ’s total liability is limited to the amount you have paid to use the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (if any).
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
17. Suspension, termination, and survival
You may stop using CRÜ at any time.
CRÜ may suspend or terminate your access at any time, for any reason, including for breach of these Terms or the Rules, or where reasonably necessary to protect users or the integrity of the Service.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including (without limitation) sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.
18. Changes to these Terms
CRÜ may update these Terms from time to time.
If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
19. Notices and contact
Notices we send you may be provided through the Service, by email, or by other reasonable means. Our contact method is provided in-app or on our Contact page (/contact).
If you need to contact us about these Terms, you can do so through the Service.
20. General
Severability If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Assignment You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms as part of operating or transferring the Service.
Waiver A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
Entire agreement These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Rules, form the entire agreement between you and CRÜ regarding the Service.
21. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and applicable Commonwealth laws.
Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
