Sunshine Coast queer friends and local community

On the Sunshine Coast, queer community can feel more spread out. It can be harder to know who else is nearby, what is happening, or where to start if you are not already connected.

CRÜ is being built to make it easier for LGBTQIA+ people on the Sunshine Coast to find friends, local plans, events, chats and softer community without relying only on dating apps or big social media groups.

Not every connection needs to begin with a big night out. For some people, queer community starts with coffee, beach walks, gym or outdoors buddies, a local event, a casual reply, or a small plan that feels easy to say yes to.

CRÜ is designed for those smaller openings, especially in places where the community exists but can feel harder to find.

A lot of queer people want friends, shared interests, event company, local recommendations and community before anything romantic or sexual. That is especially important for people who feel awkward, cautious, ace, aro, newly out, newly local or simply tired of swiping.

CRÜ gives people room to connect without every interaction needing to carry dating pressure.

CRÜ is still early, which means the Sunshine Coast community will be shaped by the people who join first: what they post, what they ask, what they suggest and what kinds of plans feel natural here.

The goal is not to force a scene. It is to make it easier for queer people already on the Sunshine Coast to find one another gently.
